Machine-guns - do you know the difference between light, medium, and heavy? What is a 'submachinegun'? It is a bit of a moving target, as terminology alters as technology does, but the terms used in World War Two are still reasonably current. Caliber. Yes, you can measure different ways so that this 0.30 inch is different than that 0.30 inch. However, even if you are measuring the same way, and the projectile diameters are the same, ammo still isn't interchangeable because there is also the cartridge BODY, which were invariably different in length, taper, bottleneck, and rim.

nice job, but I wish you had covered proper assault rifles and their intermediate caliber rounds.
-
The Tommy gun shoots a .45ACP which is a lot more powerful than a 9mm
-
What are the gun laws in Britten ?
-
I wouldn't call the M1919 a MMG because it fairly light and they were used as more of a squad automatic weapon like a BAR
-
does this guy ever answer comments?
-
what type of machine gun are the m4 and ak47
-
morning boys!welcome to the frontline!

7.7=lmg
12.7=mmg
20.0=hmg
I want a 50 cal (12.7)
And the germans used 7.62, 7.9, 13.0, 15.0, 20.0 and 30.0 for thier guns. Mainly on aircraft the higher calibres but tigers and pantbers had the 7.7's -
Actually just mounting an mmg doesn't increase power. If would reduce recoil but it wouldn't increase bullet speed or energy.
-
I'll have the medium cooked medium rare please.
-
the m2 browning is so throughly used in all branches of the US military that we have basically stopped trying to replace it except on aircraft.
-
i could have sworn they made another distinction between 5.56, 7.62 and 12.7 chambered machine guns in modern times but im terrible with remembering just about anything and everything

Funny thing, the HK mp7 fires small 4.6x30mm bullets that are shaped like a rifle bullet, allowing for a very good penetration, but low stopping power. The recoil are very manageable, so it won't be difficult to empty your magasine into someone.
-
Would you say the BAR was a pre-cursor to the Assault Rifle or something different entirely?
-
you misspelled "Caliber."
-
K98K ammo is 7.92x57
M1/M2 Ball ammo is .30 or 7.62x63 -
Note that scientific experiments show that allowing a gun to recoil does NOT affect muzzle velocity.
-
Ben guns, in fact, pull you forward when firing.
