With a theme of ‘Go, Sow, Grow’, 32 teams from 27 top universities throughout Australia and New Zealand participated in the competition tasked with developing an autonomous robot to perform specific tasks. With the live final held at Macquarie University, the NI ARC finalists showcased a diverse array of innovative and impressive robot designs. Industry members, students of all ages, the general public gathered at Macquarie University to witness the live final. UNSW Lab 202 and UNSW Mechatronics won 1st and 2nd place. University of Wollongong went home with the 3rd place prize and last year’s winner, Victoria University of Wellington was awarded the best robot design.
