And I suppose everyone thinks that the development cost of all this crap isn't included in the final cost of the 22 trucks. Oshkosh can't afford to just build prototypes and never sell completed product. Someone pays in the end. Oshkosh makes some fantastic commercial trucks that do all kinds of things. They're a good company but when they get into government contracting, the costs go sky high.

Actually Oshkosh paid for designing the 6 generations. It wasn't until the EMD phase that they were paid to build 22 trucks. "By contrast, the other two EMD award winners, Oshkosh and AM General, had developed their JLTV contenders on their own, outside the official technology development program." How much taxpayer money went into designing this overpriced contraption? If the U.S. would stop trying to be the world's policeman, we wouldn't need to produce crap like this. Let's start minding our own business in the world and use this money to update our infrastructure and help the poor. We don;t need "Warfighters," we need POVERTY fighters.
