Don't be complacent is right. The backing alarms become a normal occurrence. Those backup alarms all sound the same. On busy jobsites, sometimes multiple equipment will be backing up at once and the beeps may become in sync with each other. This is dangerous because you tend to face and make eye contact with a single operator. Meanwhile your back is turned to another. Awareness is the safest way.

This is an excellent video, it is so important that the padestrian makes eye contact with the operator, this may save your life, I know of a man who was killed by being backed over by a skid loader.
