The Krag Jorgensen is a norwegian rifle :)
-
man that racist! @2:22 , look at the hat, that chinese KMT hats. better yet that man was using the japanese sword.
-
and that using dutch manlicher is PETA forces. javanese that used by japanese for reinforcement from occupied dutch east indies
-
that is chinese soldier using that zb26 lmg
-
The Japanese army called ZB - 26 "Cecco Kiju"
"Cecco" has the meaning of Czechoslovakia. "Kiju" is machine gun.
Because the performance of the ZB-26 machine gun was too good, the Japanese army soldier did not like the Type-11 machine gun so much. -
Even japanese soldiers also thought that western goods are far better than their arisaka and nambu's, and also included captured allied M3 stuarts and M4 sherman, that's weird.

japan used to have strong relation with both UK and USA before WW2, so japan imported warships, ammunition, firearms from them.
china on the other hand, nazi was trying to take back the colony they've lost in china back in the first world war, they also start selling firearms and sending instructors so KMT can fight against communists. Soviets knew this they also aiding the chinese communists. -
This is proved that Japanese EA dont trust there infantry weapon... They also used this weapon to slaughter surrendered allied troops and civilians.
-
very rare footage
-
Lol when the japanese is looking at the browning machine gun he looks so serious XD
-
must be a pain to keep having to find thompson/1911 .45 ammunition considering they were pretty expensive and somewhat rare.
-
The Japanese had a pretty decent quality navy and air force. But, their army and marine weapons were utter crap.
-
My Grandmother has an Enfield rifle with Japanese Characters on it. Captured from someone and then recaptured by American fighting men.

That's not a Krag M1899. Krags had straight grip stocks and a plate on the left side. This stock has a pistol grip stock and wood on it's left side. It's probably some Mauser type hunting rifle.
That's also not a M1919. That's an ANM2. It was designed for aircraft.

"Wow, the Japanese were able to get their hands on M1919s, C96s, Thompsons, Mondragons, and a bunch of other goodies and didn't decide to produce their own? What they captured was gold, they could have rechambered them, reverse engineer them, produce their own copy and viola! Better weapons for the Japanese. "
Yeah, they could have. But it would have needed to - at least partially - modify the production lines. Not by using different machines, but it would have needed new dimensions, new making routines for the workers of the weapon factories.
It takes some time for a gunsmith to learn to make the parts of a new gun with the same efficiency and same reliability than the one (s)he's accustomed to.
It wouldn't have needed different resources, but time. Maybe the Japanese didn't want to spend that time, and the time needed to test the captured weapons and their home-made copies -

Just about all the rifles shown were better than the arisaka which is what the japanese had.
-
Makes sense if you capture a big base or something and there is lots of ammo why waste time trying to get supplied from your homeland when you can just use the resources at hand.

I read that officers in the Japanese Imperial Armed Forces during WW2 were required to purchase their pistols and being allowed that, several officers chose to carry foreign designs such as the Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless in .32 ACP or the Mauser C96.

The Japanese captured enough M1917 Enfields in the Philipines to arm a complete division. During WWI Germany captured so many M1891 Mosin-Nagants that they started making the ammo for them and used them to arm Naval and support troops.
