This is an original Type 97 medium machinegun that was mounted to a tank during World War II. This weapon is based on the Czech-made ZB-30 from the mid 1930's. The British-made Bren was also based on the ZB-30 and it's name is derived from the Brno factory and Enfield factory (BRno = ENfield). We have the original optic that was attached to the Type 97 which aided the gunner in picking targets and delivering pin-point accuracy. The Type 97 is mounted in an original ball turret mount from a Japanese tank that was used in World War II as well. Though the test firing was brief, we just wanted to make sure that the history still lives on in this model. Now our guests from around the world can now experience a little "blast from the past". Chambered in 7.7 Japanese, this is just one more of the original Japanese guns that we are making available.
