During the height of "the Surge" an Iraqi convoy was struck with a massive vehicle borne improvised explosive device (V.B.I.E.D.). On September 2, 2007, a convoy of Iraqi Army Humvees were passing near the gate of the United Stats FOB, Camp Taji, when a suicide bomber drove his vehicle right into the convoy. The massive explosion disabled the lead vehicle and the amount of casualties is unknown.
