My log splitter is running with an big time fake Honda GX390 engine, with lots of design mistakes and made from components with low quality.

Aqui no Brasil se tem um modelo da Lippel, denominado Biotriturador 120. É igual no desenho.

This red lever equipped on feeding hopper called EMERGENCY BRAKE LEVER.
I had a problem with the exhaust falling off because the vibration of the engine loosened the two nuts holding the exhaust manifold to the engine block. Replacing the nuts with special nuts (with flanges) finally fixed the problem.
I did find that the exit chute was blocking a lot, so I removed it and replaced it with a short piece of curved roofing steel which made it far easier for the wood chips and chewed-up leaf matter to be thrown out of the machine. The machine still has a tendency to clog depending on what I am chipping, but I keep an eye on this and whenever the machine starts to clog, I clear the accumulated matter with a stick, without needing to stop the machine.
I also avoid chipping branches bigger than say 7 cm / 70 mm - especially dry branches, as I found that they were damaging the blades which seem just a little too soft - the steel should in my opinion be just a bit more be tempered. It seems far easier for the wood chipper to deal with freshly cut branches and other material than branches which have been left to dry.
I did find it difficult to undo the bolts nuts holding on the two blades with ordinary spanners, in order to sharpen them. I finally bought an air compressor and a compressed air-driven socket set like the car mechanics use to undo the nuts on car wheels. This proved to be an excellent investment. The bolts that come with the machine also have shallow heads which are difficult to get a grip on, so I replaced them with bolts with thicker heads.
Now that I have taken care of these details, I am very happy with the machine.
