Good job my friend. May our Lord bless you and your family.

Smart man! You hand nail the cap. I've seen others use 1 inch and a quarter with the nail gun. this is unacceptable and the lazy way to put on cap!
-
Great video! Thank you for sharing the series. These were very helpful. I was able to roof my new shed after watching these.

good job

Do not cut your own ridge cap, doing so voids the warranty
-
why do you nail it down on tar line? other guys say it should be nailed down under or above the tar line? Please comment, Thanks
-
good video i was wondering about the subject and this one was the more detailed, unfortunately no answers for the related good questions...

How do you end the capping on the ridge and ridge vent?
-
i always install the vent across the entire ridge because it just looks better.
-
Nice video, do you not have to put any sealant under the vents when putting them down?
-

I cap from both ends toward the middle with the shingles turned away from the gables. That way water sheds away from the roof ends of the roof vent. At the gables, I lay a half starter with the sticky strip toward the outside and then nail the cut off aggregate half on top of it, dabbing the nail heads neatly with some roof cement sprinkled with loose aggregate to hide them. This eliminates the need to decide which is the windward gable. The middle gets another half shingle nailed, dabbed and sprinkled. It's a little extra work but it functions better so I put up with it.

lol dont need to cut that. Just bend it twice and done. Way faster.
