videos | at work | information | view | construction
Putting a thrown track back on the E50 mini excavator. Each brand of equipment releases the track tension in a slightly different way but they are all pretty similar. Like what you see? Check out The Dirt Ninja on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/TheDirtNINJA

Thankyou for your education videos - just come back from a job in a very remote location - ( Scottish equivalent of deep Alaska! ) where I had to do a quick checkover on all the machines - 2 with rubber tracks. So I've gleaned some useful tips - quicker than after reading the books which I always do where available. BUT but but, Why didn't you clean the dirt from around that inspection panel hole before you started. I HATE getting down & dirty on these jobs - nothing worse than gritty STICKY grease! >> Could someone PLEASE make a video on how to wipe off sticky grease from your fingers & tools ! << LOL of course
-
Haha! I've never seen tracks that clean and I swear there's 30 min of wrestling with the track missing. Thanks Dirt Ninja! We always spin the track with the pry bars stuck in and hope nobody's bowels get spilled. Next time I'll try a more chilled safe approach.

Good video, thanks. Track came off digger twice today, have to put on ourselves tomorrow as Hire people are off.

Putting the track back on my Bobcat E35 is easy, when I was young, I ran a 245 CAT. Putting a track back on a 140,000 lb. excavator is a little more challenging.
-
+Dirt Ninja how much does that track weigh?
-
Good job!
-
What ever happened to bobcat ninja???
-
good times! usually this is on Friday around 4pm and its on the 25 ton machine with the big ass swamp pads! god this can ruin a day
-
Did this on my E45 this summer, had no idea how to do it until I found a video similar to yours on youtube.
-
Have you thrown a track before?
-
About how long does it take to remove all the grease? What about regreaseing it?
-
Our transport driver had both tracks come off...... Towards the center
-
I don't like this Dirt Ninja! Bobcat ninja was cooler! Smh..

As always great and helpful video....how recent was this shot? Just wondering how the digging was for you, I'm up in Portland and may have a couple of jobs that can be done this winter, but didn't prep them last fall so curious about frost.
-
Excellent video, what caused it to come off.?
-
the joys of putting a track back on
-
We love our electric grease guns You will never go back to a hand grease gun
-
Have you ever put a track on a john Deere 450 lc excavator
-
If you are alone a 2" yellow ratchet strap is handy to pull the track over the idler wheel. Just be careful not to roll the track too far ahead and snap the strap.

Neither one of my machines had covers for the grease port, I actually like that feature, digging horse shit out of the access hole is no kinda fun. My Takeuchi might have had one when it was first born, I got that machine used, but my Kubota never did.
