This is how I polish aluminum rims. I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL. How did I learn to do this? Just like you are right now-by watching YouTube! Special thanks goes to DC Super Shine for all their videos and demonstrations! www.youtube.com/dcsupershine Rims were originally on the back of a semi truck. The driver traded them in for super singles, so I bought all eight. I polished them for my bus, and the extras I polished to sell. They are available for whoever wants to buy them. 9/26/14 You can buy the polishing wheels and compound at iowa80, select TA truckstops and eBay. The sanding grits I used in order are 80, 120, 220, 320, 400, 600, and 800. I had to buy the 4, 6, and 800 paper online. Starting with 80 grit is not always necessary- I only used it because it the rim protectors left grooves in the rim face. I did some research before I started polishing and learned a few basic ideas in polishing. By sanding and making the surface smoother, we remove the tiny ridges and imperfections, then polish to make it visually appealing. Also, the shine comes from high speed buffing- not heat or pressure. -Matt
