Machines | How to make a moveable machinery platform - castor carriage
videos | at work | information | view | construction
It is really useful to be able to move workshop machinery around in the small and medium sized workshop. In this video I show you my design to allow me to move my 150kg planing machine around the workshop - thanks to some excellent castors from Coldene.

Hi Peter, would you mind providing me with a set of your plans as well? (eyagolauj@gmail.com). I completed my cardboard mock up to fit my dimensions but noticed you had made some changes and would like to review it prior to cutting the wood. Thanks in advance.

Hi Peter, is it possible to get a set of plans? nigel.taylor@talktalk.net. Also as an alternative do you think the Axminster workbench casters would work? Being fixed straight to the frame of the machine just to move the planer from the wall and lowered down to use?

How did you know that this design would be able to sustain that weight? On which principles did you choose the stock thickness of all your pieces?
Beautiful design and execution, by the way :) -

Peter, I notice that when using the bandsaw you're wearing a full face shield. Is this something you wear when using all power tools or is it particular to the bandsaw? I suppose it's handy that it can be worn with glasses! Thanks.

Peter, do you mind sharing your plans for this project. my email is blard@bradley.com Many thanks.

You can easily replace the wheels on the gray casters for a more durable one. It will cost you chips and your problem will be resolved.
