Here in WI last year we didnt get but a few snow falls, I know a family friend who bid for the season and ended up coming way ahead then if he had done by hour or even per time. It was a gamble but it paid off.
-
All I have to say is everyone charges different and we all know what it cost to run our equipment so let it snow and let's make some money 💰 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑Stan you need to do a new video of the charger I posted a comment some one said wait 3 months and see what it looks like post one just to show them it still looks cool thanks

How do you afford to buy a respectable and reliable truck, a modern snow plow, pay labor and worker's compensation as well as your income taxes when only charging $57 per hour per truck?
-
Stan, how do you feel about putting a plow on a truck? I have a 1996 F250 with only 97000 miles on it. I am terrified to put a plow on it for fear it going to mess my truck up and my truck is the only vehicle I have
-
But are you a member of SIMA, if not your considered a fly by night operator, and you are no better than a local high school kid.
-
What can you do with a blade that you can not do with a bucket? You are cleaning parking lots not wind rowing
-
Its a shame here in England I cant take this information and use it,I want to don't get me wrong but the mentality of people not wanting it removed and the fact we go years between snow is a big problem
-
I'm a fan of seasonal contracts. Fixed cost per month no matter how much or how little snow there is. I even have a few customers set up on year round payments. They have less of a budget impact and I get paid all year.
-
Isn't this just a little bit skewed though? You can bid all accounts the same way, per storm with increments and use loaders still to get it done twice as fast. That lot you do in 30 minutes, you could probably do in 20 minutes with a 14' blade, Now you're making $900 an hour. Nobody on the East Coast should plow per hour for anything. Bottom line that makes no sense for the customer or you, as being the contractor, you would have to purposefully take a longer time to stretch out hours and make up some lost income vs. per storm, plowing it as fast as possible to make the most possible money.

У нас в России такой правильной уборки не стоит ожидать, не хотят работать быстро.
-
I am definitely looking forward to this winter now! Thanks!
-
I plow my commercial lots per time with a one inch trigger and a one plow per month minimum. This protects me from going out of business if it doesn't snow. Most of my driveways are yearly contracts at a two inch trigger. Not having all your eggs in one payment basket also protects you from those years of low snow totals. This will be my 21st winter in the biz. It can be stressful but I love it. Usually if the grass is greener it has been fertilized with bull shitt....lol

I like you videos and your honestly when you review certain equipment and add on's like the kage system. But your prices are insanely cheap. Here subcontractors with their own equipment make 75 an hour for skids and 125 an hour for a large loader. Different regions different pricing I guess. My 2 cents.
-
Good stuff Stan. Your killing it! what is the average cost of putting a snow blade on a newer style F-150 like a 2011 or 2012?
-
what
-
Thanks for sharing your advice. Wish I'd seen this 6 years ago.
Quick question. Do you lease, finance or outright purchase your equipment? -
Hey Stanley. where do you work out of In the winter. I have my 2a hoisting lisence. 9 years exp. in snow.
-
Много разной техники и каждый по своему хорош.
-
Umm, yeah, contract work is generally more profitable than hourly subcontracting. This is a revelation? Getting paid isn't a minor consideration as you mentioned in the video - it's the only consideration. A contractor friend of mine once said - you can get all the work you want, as long as you don't mind not getting paid.

hey Stanley awesome videos love watching them for information and inspiration. I wanted to comment about the snow removal, one of our clients is a town home Association and it usually takes us less than 2 hours to completely finish the property for $ 400 just me and two helpers. this is definitely our highest margin compared to all the other 25 residentials we have. in my opinion apartment complexes and big flat parking lots are the money makers. we also do a couple commercial lots thats just me in the truck easily grossing around $200 per hour. we get subbed out for 80 an hour while the snow is falling and that's a truck with a plow and one guy with a blower. were in omaha nebraska btw.
