How To Launch A Manual Transmission Car - Detailed Process For more videos like this, click here - https://goo.gl/Kp2EVU Subscribe for new videos every Wednesday! - https://goo.gl/VZstk7 How do I launch a manual transmission? The process of launching a manual transmission is straight forward, but there are a few variables you need to adjust for optimizing your speed. 1. Press the clutch in. 2. Apply throttle, holding the RPM at a desired speed. 3. Release the clutch. 4. When the clutch starts to grab, apply more throttle and modulate as necessary to control wheel spin. The trickiest part will be determining what RPM you should start the launch with, and it will likely take a few tries to get it just right. Too much throttle and the tires will likely spin. Not enough throttle and the acceleration will be slow in comparison. It's also important to smoothly, but fairly quickly, release the clutch. Too slow and you can burn up the clutch, too fast and you could cause drivetrain damage if the tires do not slip. This video will feature 0-60 launches of several different cars, including the VW Golf R, Ford Mustang GT, Chevy Camaro SS, Subaru WRX, Mazda MX-5, and Subaru BRZ. Times will be posted for comparison with Motor Trend and Car And Driver. And don't forget to check out my other pages below! is it like this for launch control?
-
You shouldn't compare your times to the magazine times when you are accelerating downhill...
-
Oh my God just tell us how its done
-
How come the launch looks so slow at 8:00 😳
-
@Engineering Explained, 0-60 pull on the corbett ramp lol. ive found myself doing the same.
-
Tubb it out put a five link Dana 60 sub frame in it, slicks with bead lockers, posi track or spool and Lenco transmission. As much horse power as you can build, wheelie bars tack it up to what your engine build will take and dump the clutch.
-
WTF im watching I don't even have car lol!
-
did you replace your Subaru with a Golf R?
-
Actually watching this whole, what is this retareded advice? You put gear 1, you don't add ANY throttle, you release clutch until the car starts to move, you HOLD the clutch until car moved a bit then you release and add throttle.
-
just use clutch alone you don't need any throttle
-
Hey man do a video on a 95 Silverado stick shift 💪🏼
-
This is a good channel because the others don't explain nothing more than just driving around like idiots
-
Try to launch an 06 v6 5 speed mustang. Open diff lights the passenger side tire up no matter how you try to launch it. Gotta drive like a grandma to keep it from spinning taking off normally. Anyone wanna donate a torsen to me?
-
As a 20 veteran of manuals, I enjoyed your video. To all the kids out there getting the hang of it, apologies if your head exploded.
-
Great advice, but you gotta shift quicker than that. Launch is one thing but shifts are important too.
-
Glad I found this channel. Well put together.

So at the end of the day you're explaining how to do this and you're also saying not to do this as it will damage one's vehicle? I am learning to drive stick shift in a 06 Subaru Impreza (no turbo but i wish it did). You're saying this would ruin the car's drive train and Clutch and transmission? What is drive train? I am so lost :(
-
Are you saying you got the car to 60mph in only 2nd gear? Im learning to drive manual btw. i didn't know you could do that
-
Wait 2nd gear and at 60? Whaa I feel bad for my car when I'm going 50 in 3rd 😂 unless he's on about kmh instead of mph
-
he's cute...
