If you read the Fluid Master Brass Bolt Set, then you find out that the bolt should be secured to the tank first. That's for supplying 4 washers, metal and rubber, and 4 bolts. This video is made by people who are amateur.

Put some of the Teflon pipe thread paste onto the threads of the bolts before the nuts and the bolts will come off easy next time you do this.
-
that's how Butters sits on the toilet

Failed to show how washers go when tank is installed onto toilet.

When attaching a tank to bowl kit evenly tighten down the tank bolts, but never tighten them from above. It is best to tighten the nut from below as you can also see the tank then sitting evenly then on the bowl. I always use a small crescent wrench or spanner. This is not a difficult project and the average homeowner can do this themselves. You can actually reach down into the tank and push down on the bolts and tighten the nuts. A screwdriver is NOT required. Best of luck and have a great day.

good lord i wonder how many toilets have been cracked because of these wrong videos. Or how many homes have been flooded. Never ever use a screwdriver on the tank bolts, even if they have a flat head insertion. The damn directions will even tell you this. It will cut grooves into the washers as you tighten and later flood your house. DO NOT tighten untill the tank touches the bowl... you will break your new toilet. Only tighten from the bottom, thats what the friction rings are for. BEWARE

I'm so pissed...I cracked the top of my new toilet because I've tightened the bolts to hard....anything I can do except buying another toilet? Can't believe I will have to...

The video wasnt very clear on how the bolts and gaskets connect between the tank and the bowl. For example, on the new toilet I bought I couldnt figure out if the rubber washer was to remain inside the tank or outside. I think by watching another video I have to connect the rubber washer to the bottom of the tank and then connect the end of that bolt to the toilet with the remaining wing nut.
