Can't do 700miles a day, unless it's a team! East coast most roads are traffic filled & only in certain areas outside of populated areas can you do 70mpg if there is no construction. Besides, most trucks are governed by major companies at 65mph.
More important than finding a load is this:
As a truck driver I hate half ass agents that will assign loads without all the correct information we need. Example: After waiting 2 hours I finally am given a hot load coming out of Brooklyn NY & told it must be picked up at 4pm. But it's now 1pm & I'm 240 miles away in State College, PA! Duh, I know NY traffic is bad so I doubt I can make 4pm even if my truck could sprout wings!. So I tell the agent I can't make the 4pm & advise him my DOT regulated hours will expire at 6pm & I ask him when does the shipper close & is there overnight parking for me at the shipper? (loading & paperwork can take at least 1-2hrs if not more). The agent says it closes at 7pm but there is overnight parking there & tells me to go now & just arrive asap! Ok I leave & get there at 5:30pm. After looking for 1/2 hour the shipper says that the "hot" load was actually assigned to another company & since I can't pick up the load tells me I'm not allowed to park my truck there for the night! Thanks now I have less than an hour to get out of Brooklyn & find some place to park, Are you kidding me, do you know what rush hour NYC traffic is like? Giving the correct information to the truckers is IMPERATIVE! I could go on & on with examples like that which I have experienced. If you want to be an agent you need to provide truckers with the correct active phone number to the live person at a shipper or consignee. Because of your mistakes in a rush to get loads for truckers, unfortunately we need to then verify everything you tell us.(which I've now learned to must do) Imagine on that last example how much time & fuel money was wasted not to mention I could have gotten fined for violating my DOT hours trying to find a place to park for the night. Your mistakes cost us a LOT of money! Verify everything, double check everything! -
your the guy who makes sense and thanks for the share and my respect friend.

M.S Dispatch is professional truck dispatch service providing quality freight to America's hard working owner-operator truckers.
M.S Dispatch is staffed by former trucking company owners as well as dispatchers with a minimum of 5 years experience dispatching.
You must have your own authority, mc# USDOT# and insurance. We can help you get it if you are new.
We serve dry van, flat bed step deck, and reefer freight.
M.S Dispatch was founded by Maral & Shannon Eitzen, a 25 year veteran trucker, and the best in the business when it comes to finding freight and negotiating top freight rates.
Unlike most other dispatch companies that charge 5% up to 25% of the gross revenue of load hauled, M.S Dispatch charges our owner-operators a flat monthly fee of 500.00. If you are only looking for a load here and there, our service won't be of benefit to you as the fee wouldn't make sense. If you are looking for l-7 loads per week, we are the best in the business, and have a monthly goal of 20,000.00 in revenue.
If you are ready to have a dispatch team ready to work for you, that don't take a major cut out of your pay, call M.S Dispatch 605-237-6188 -
