great insight,i been driving company 8 years, talked to many o/o ,there is no safety net, you have to be a master money manager and that may not be good enough because of the variables
-
Average after all expenses/payments Etc
New truck and trailer
No less then 90,000 net profit a year -
If you're thinking about moving to o/o I would highly advise against it unless you run for months at a time, you don't have a family or you get your truck payment low, like $1000 or lower a month or have a great warranty. I'm about to return my truck to the dealer. My monthly payment is $1700. But honestly that's not the problem, it's the repairs that get me. I've had my 2nd truck for about a year and I can say just about every week it's something and it's a decent truck it's just that things need to be replaced after a while and my tuck has 500 miles on it. If you like having money just stay a company driver. The extra that $ o/o make is literally for repairs!!!

all depends how hard you work. . More hard, more miles, so more money for your and your truck. .
-
300k$ a year? Serious?

PRESSURE DOES BURST A PIPIE!We have to address all the little details once WE decide to t6ake a step forward and proceed!!!! BUT WE DO NEED TO BE SOMEWHAT CAUTIOUS AS WE PROCEED!Research, find our niche (lane) and really get down and dirty, be happy and at peace with it and LIVE OUR LIVES, WE ARE MEANT TO DO SO FROM CRADLE TO GRAVE!!!Peace and love!!!Ase Ori Hotep!!! Hi sorry to bother, I actually wanted to ask you something, I live in canada, and i was thinking about becoming a truck driver, I was planning on going into the course in September right before my 26th birthday. But from the sounds of this video, it sounds to me like you dont like this job is their any reason as to why that might be? And if so, can you make another video explaining that reason?
Honestly i always looked at this job as freedom, I dont like the job that i have now, but i kinda get the feeling that this truck can be very stressful. And i understand why that might be.
Tight deadlines
Your truck might stop and you'll have to wait for someone to pick you up
Not enough sleep
Being away from home
and many other reasons.
But i wanted to know honestly besides the money and what not. Do you in your honest opinion think this job is worth it? I am a hard worker ive been working for the past 10 years now, still am. Do you think this job is for me? Or people like me? Im not very strong by the way, and i do get exhausted after staying up for more than 12 hours, just naturally my body wants to sleep after the 12 hour mark. DO you think this is for me? And thank you -

The human being (most) are conditioned to make things appear more difficult than they really are.

I appreciate the video it is very informative. I'm thinking of making that move. I have been driving since 2004... I think it's long overdue. I have a video series on Google +(yeah I know nobody uses it) send me a friend request(Duane Garbutt..the one with the picture) and check out some of my videos. Shalom
Let's do some math.
Annual loaded miles should be 120,000
Let's say we run reefer
Average per mile is about 1.85 AVERAGE Wisconsin outbound is 2.35 but lets use $1.85
Operating costs per truck PER MILE including all expenses should be about .95 cents
So we run 1.85 deduct .95 and we are left with .90 cents NET per mile.
Let's say few more expenses pop up here and there and we take another .10 a mile which is $12000 deduction if you only run 120000 miles annually.
So bottom line is we are NETTING .80 CENTS PER MILE. Times that per annual miles
.80 x 120,000= $96,000
You should NET 96,000 Depending on if your LLC or corp you may pay taxes of about 25 percent bringing you down to $70,000.
So 70k NET AFTER EXPENSES AND TAXES.
How the hell do owner ops complain on YouTube they make no money?????
