Machines | Hitachi and Bombardier Joint Venture - UK, 2016
videos | at work | information | view | construction
Bombardier and Hitachi have teamed up in the UK to create an innovative, competitive and deliverable proposal for the New Tube for London. We have taken LUL’s stunning design vision and exacting technical specifications and developed a new metro train, Novatroia. The name Novatroia reflects the Roman heritage of London and echoes the pioneering spirit and innovative engineering for which the Romans were renowned and which resonates in our design. Novatroia will be manufactured and assembled across HBJV’s two British sites at Derby and Newton Aycliffe. Bombardier will be the lead vehicle designer, and Hitachi the lead on reliability, with both supplying key subsystems. Bombardier and Hitachi already work together successfully in the manufacture and supply of the ETR1000 to Trenitalia in Italy, described as ‘the most stunning train in the world’, and in the ANM consortium on the new metropolitan system in Riyadh.

Bombardier is begging Canada's Federal Government for C$1B Subsidy (which is unpopular with the Voters). They have Financial, Mechanical, and Employee Relations problems, now PR trouble with begging for $. Why announce a partnership, Hitachi doesn't need this.
