Glider Kit truck was the way I have always went, old school under the hood has best pulling power , and the part that I love is power on demand, no def or computer problems with old school, more power, but you have to choose better fuel mpg or do you want the power, I wanted power, IN the US these trucks are alot less price when you buy, and are easier to work on;;;;;

I would go with 389 Peterbilt glider, C-15 6nz or 3406E Cat 550hp. No emissions crap, runs great nothing pulls like a Cat. I have driven all of them. Aside from the coolness of a Peterbilt, they are better build, service from dealer is top notch, and on the back side. If you ever want to sell it they hold there value. U will get the most return for tour money

Uncle Sergei, The T800 will serve you well. Its my FAVORITE truck, and being from Alberta; I see TONS of them around doing Heavy Haul, Flat Deck, logging, Oilfield, Tanker even Reefer. Its really is the do all truck, along with being one of the toughest in the business. You can also order it with a bunch of Aero options, similar to the W900 Aerocab. I love the idea of a Glider also, but people are starting to dump them here in Alberta, due to the new Carbon Tax; and rumors of Emissions Testing/Banning Deleted & Glider trucks.

Can u use a glider kit truck? Or ar you going to California?
-
Sergie, how do you monitor pressure in wheels at your truck and trailer? Do you have sensors in every wheel or you do this by eye inspection?
-
Cant wait for the unveil!

Hi Sergei.....With a Set Back Steering Axle and a lot of Weight on the Drive Axles, do you ever run into the Truck going straight instead of turning making the Steers skid Sideways? Now, would a Forward Axle stop this or reduce it?

So glad you are considering a Kenworth T800, have had a few and all have been great trucks! Another issue I see with the Argosy is if you feel like your current Mack sleeper seems small I think you will really feel crowded in an Argosy. Happy searching!
-
Sure there is 1300 pounds difference. But you are talking about a truck really designed for heavy haul versus one that isn't. I would say the Mack can heavy haul for sure but on a minimal scale . The Western Star is built for true heavy haul and will be able to do anything you ask it too. I'm not dissing the Mack by any means but it isn't even in the same league as the Western Star for heavy hauling.
-
The choice for you my friend is Kenworth T-800. You said yourself it has everything you look for. That model has proven itself and stood the test of time. Go to the oilfields in Western Canada and tell me what you see. There is a reason the fleets out there run these things hauling huge loads. To consider any of these other trucks is batshit crazy. Ok labour rates might be higher at KW but spec the right KW and get extended warranty and you'll be laughing. Western Star is a nice truck but those DD motors scare me.
-
why don't you look at a kenworth t800 big hood it has a big rad
-
Sergei, what about the Kenworth T950 in Australia check them out. They haul a lot of B doubles and road trains. Thanks for sharing a interesting subject on trucks.

The trailer hauling that crane looked low on air @ the trailer tires & also wonder why he didn't use his outriggers to support more of the crane tire? That Argosy Cabover is one cool looking tractor. Freightliner has a good warranty and it's hard to beat a Detroit Diesel. Also there are Freightliner dealerships all over & they are owned by a good company Mercedes, so they can only get better with design changes.
I love talking truck specs. made for an interesting video.
