The course provides training in the diagnosis, repair, and operation of heavy equipment and heavy duty trucks. Students learn the principles of the diesel engine, drive train, brakes, suspension and steering, hydraulics, and preventive maintenance. Students disassemble and rebuild small engines and learn introductory welding skills. Additional topics in the program include: biodiesel, alternative fuels, and heavy equipment operation.
