My old Adams Motor grader, Early 50's , was a free machine the neighbors wife said either It goes or he goes, so he said if i could tow it to my property, that i could have it, needed a injector pump, and one of the rear drive wheels freed up, brakes were stuck, UD-14A engine roughtly 86HP Gas pony start, Diesel engine from International harvester.

Well this used to have a cab, the guy i got this from removed it, for reasons unknown, the engine in this model have a International harvester UD-14A engine, it starts on gasoline, and with a flip of a lever, it continues to run on diesel, they also came with detroit engines as well, depending on the model.

A customer of mine still uses an Adams like this, although theirs has a cab. What brand of engines where used on these?

Thank you for the reply they were great machines my neighbour has an old 12e that he has had since new never missed abeat but no matter how good it was it still was left behnd by the Adams I love Adams graders they are the best ever i would put my adams 550 against any other grader and i reckon it would give them a good go made i USofA with Pride and Expertise regards lespato n

I like my old machine, it doesnt get used as much , but it works, i cannot complain, made in the USA when stuff were meant to last, and work had a lot more pride in it.

i think that this Adams looks like 330 Model it came out in 57 theese were first Model to have smooth Font wheel hubs the older 312 inthat line all hada protruding Cp on Front whel bearing Lrft scare along any batter you were trimming bUt all model Adams Grader were mighty machines in there day riht from 3330 to 660 wabco took them ovr still goood graders the 330 was 75hp TD9 engine it could bury a 112hp Cat 12 even with me operating( A learner inthat time)

@IHcubcadet It really does run good, and its running with 4+ year old diesel in it, the stuff is not really red anymore, kinda dark burgundy, and it still doesnt smoke that bad what so ever, i was told its roughly 600 cubic inch 4 cylinder, this engine was found in the TD14 Dozers most the time.

@500passwords Haha,, Its a long way to drive the grader to get to work, have no trailer to haul it, its a ol freebie, spent $300 on the Injector pump long ago for it, but its a hoss for sure, it rolls dirt and rock pretty good.
