I spent the day working with my uncle who runs his own tri-axle dump truck business. His pride and joy is his 2007 Peterbilt 357 heavy hauler tri-axle dump truck with a 565 HP Cummins ISX (pre-emissions), an Eaton-Fuller 18 speed, Eaton 3:90 rears, a lift axle, and a set back front axle configuration. He always keeps it spotless and works it hard every day. I hadn't rode in the cab with him for quite a few years so I went with him today. We hit the road at 6:00 AM and finished up around 4:00 PM or so. 360 miles traveled throughout the day. My uncle has been pretty busy installing septic systems in a lot of residences in southern New Jersey. We hauled three loads of K5 septic sand from a quarry in the NJ Pine Barrens, then went to a different yard and hauled two loads of 3/4 round stone to cover the sand. It was a good and busy day. Been a long time since I rode in the cab of a Peterbilt so I was glad to be able to hop up in the cab of this 357 again. Time Stamp: 0:00 - heading to get sand at 6 AM 2:40 - pulling out with the first load of K5 septic sand 3:17 - hammer down on the highway 5:25 - backing in and dumping the first load of sand into the hole 6:58 - shifting through the gears with another load 8:50 - exhaust sound clip with the windows down 10:13 - getting pulled out by a Case 590 backhoe after backing too far and getting stuck 11:44 - heading home for the day
