The rescue operation of the landslide that struck Bududa district in 2010, was hampered by the muddy terrain in the mountainous area in eastern Uganda. The government and humanitarian agencies pooled resources and got earth moving equipment to help save lives. But the equipment that was procured at a huge cost now lies in ruins along the slopes of Mount Elgon.
