Let's Play Giant Machines 2017! Giant Machines 2017 gameplay enables you to control seven of the biggest industrial machines ever created on Earth. They will introduce you into the world of hissing hydraulic systems, excavator buckets and the smell of diesel. Unlike contemporary simulators, the 14 main missions are all part of one story. The goal is to send a space shuttle to the International Space Station. Your tasks will be, among others: • To crush mountains, • To move tons of earth, • To cut metal constructions • To mine radioactive ores, • And to transport (rock, ore, machines… and even a space shuttle!!) Our machines have the following features: • Accurately recreated cockpits and models, • Completely analog controls of actuators and cranes, • Full physics simulation (no cutting corners!). Your campaign takes place in 6 different geographical localizations: Greenland, Canada, Wyoming, Missouri and Florida. Thanks to a detailed depiction of the machines, you will be able to appreciate the magnitude of those beasts (compared to a human, a car and buildings placed on the map). You can also explore the machine in first person perspective; the wide view from the cockpit will immerse you in the world of really heavy machinery. An alternate gameplay mode is Time Attack. It is unlocked after you complete the story mode (campaign), and is comprised of selected missions. The rewards for completing a mission in a set time are bronze, silver and gold medals, and your entry into the high scores. Your hunger for knowledge will be satiated by the Machine Library. This small encyclopedia with 3D models will broaden your knowledge of the biggest machines man has ever built. Technical parameters and performance data included. Machines available in Giant Machines 2017: • Bagger – a giant among giants – a machine capable of tearing down mountainsides • Crawler – a standard transport platform… for space shuttles • Demolition – a demolition machine – for cutting steel pipes and massive scaffoldings • Bulldozer – indispensable when you have a couple tons of earth/snow or minor objects to move • Dumper – good for those times when you need to move a whole week’s worth of mine output • Digger – as the name implies, it digs in rocks – both horizontally and vertically • Car crane – moving several tons of containers was never this easy! I love this game and all but that is hilariously bad how the snow just disappears (or in this case it more or less glitches through the blade then disappears). This happens to be a Komatsu D575A carry bulldozer that can actually push/carry the load. It is supposed to be able to push enough material that it can actually keep a pretty large amount in the blade while also pushing more forward. If the game's animators could not even get the material to look like it is being shifted or even animated into piles instead of just disappearing it would be better a least for me. I'm sure I can't be the only one. I know this game can't be 100% realistic but for a game priding itself on the player being able to operate these behemoths it certainly has it glitches.
I'm seriously not hating or anything here but I do have a list of some glitches/mistakes I've noticed:
-The bucket wheel excavator's conveyor does not fill up with material as soon as it starts mining it as well as the fact that it piles up on the conveyor rather that continuing to move forward. Then it the material levitates before some of it eventually just falls to the ground. Doesn't help that the mined silicon is just oddly bouncy rocks and not fine ground-up material which is how it appears when your actually watching these excavators mine in real life. Heck, I've seen better, more realistic excavation graphics while watching gameplay of Construction Simulator.
-This is minor, but the sun did appear to shine through the operator cab roof on the mobile crane.
-The demolition shears seem like they break really easy and wobble/vibrate kinda loosely when they are moving, almost like they are hanging from wires and are not attached buy hydraulic arms. And they really expect you to use demolition shears that primarily are used to cut through metal and concrete, on logs. That low-hanging section of bridge Ctop had to drive under should have been the obstacle to clear with the shears, considering that would not be safe to drive under until you cleared that, not to mention the log truck that is left dangerously sitting perched between the spans.
-Now that I think about it this game don't seem to be going for realism when you realize a overpass collapsed under the weight of a log truck that didn't look fully loaded based on that small amount of logs to remove. That is a very weak overpass that needed a giant machine to repair or replace the bridge span before any vehicles should have been let across it.
-It bothers me that this game even wants you to drive that freaking giant OFF-HIGHWAY mining truck on a highway and other roads meant for semi trucks at best, including at the mining sites which should have dirt roads for the heavy equipment.
-This game could not even get right the sound of the bulldozer's tracks moving (they sound like a bunch of insects skittering along a wooden surface) and the fact the dozer has no noticeable engine noise is weird too.
-And come on Leherr, Komitsu, T-Rex. Apparently the developers could not or didn't even try to get the licensing to use the proper names for only a small amount of machines from Liebherr, Komatsu, and Terex.
If you're still reading this, my rant is over and I'm sorry I could not make it sorter. I tried.
I digress that I still would consider getting this game or at least watching more videos on it. Good job Ctop, on this video and the previous ones. Keep up the good work. -
