Around 50 farmers drove their tractors through central Berlin on Saturday morning to protest against Germany's agricultural policies, particularly industrial farming. The parade took off at Postbahnhof and drove through the Mitte district. Farmers will also hold their fourth "We have had enough!" demonstration for fair and environmentally friendly farming methods later on Saturday, where around 10,000 demonstrators are expected to gather outside of the German Chancellery building. The demonstration comes shortly after images of small piglets being killed in order to manage a surplus went public on German media before Christmas. The protest also seeks to focus attention on concerns over significantly lower wages received by the Eastern European migrants working in the German meat industry.
