It's not an HMG. An M2 is. Artillery isn't a machine gun....obviously. I believe the GAU-8 is a gatling gun, or as I like to call it, "The absolutely will kill ever last mother fucker on the ground"... gun.
-
If this is a "heavy machine gun," what's an M2? Artillery? What's that make a GAU-8?
-
That's cause its so fuckin short, m60 was all the better over the mk 48 or the m240, but they're all better than the shitty 249, how's that for your m249, bitches.
-
does this gun still have the piece of shit upper receiver
-
the worst nightmare is the mg3
-
why are we not fielding this.
-
Spammer! =O
-
Its loosely designed after the MG42. Aesthetics are close though fire rate cut in half.
-
@TheJamesrocket No.
-
@TigerG2 But I'm right. The M60 was a failed copy of the MG 42. The MK 48 is closer to the MG 42 than any other machine gu yet designed. Anyway, going on a slight tangent, I was a bit annoyed when mac insinuated that sqauds should have two such weapons per sqaud. That is clearly not a practical setup!
-
@TheJamesrocket I'm not even going to attempt to get into that discussion with you.
-
@TigerG2 Nah, the M60 was a piece of shit. Nobody would want to build a gun in its image.
-
Ahhh the modern day M60
-
@Voodoonachoman The M240B is a medium machine gun. Definitely not a heavy. I am currently in the military and my unit is issued M240B's.
-
The MK48 is a light machine gun, not a heavy. An example of an HMG would be the Browning M2.
-
At least when I was in Finnish Defence forces 7.62 was considered light machine gun. .50cal and larger are considered heavy.
-
@drockhaines a machine gun is classed as light or heavy based on the round it fires, if it fires a 5.56 it's light like the m249, if it fires a 7.62 it's heavy as it fires a full sized round like the m240B. Also a mk48 isnt a upgrade of anything and if it was a upgrade it would obviously be one of the mk46...Please get your facts straight before claiming others are incorrect
-
@thegreatpumpkinshot no the mk-48 is an upgraded M249 not m240 and a heavy machinegun is a gun that would be to heavy to carrier around or pick up to fire for long time and the mk-48 can be held for long time keep your facts right plz :3
-
@drockhaines the MK-48 fires a 7.62 Nato, not sure what you consider light or heavy but compared to an M249, it's heavy!. It's an upgraded M240
-
Hate to break ur bubble but the MK-48 is a light machingun a modified m249 but the heavy is the m240
