FSAE annual competition between teams all around the world. It is a design and build competition where points are awarded for design, business logic and of course vehicle dynamic events, which include Skid Pad, Acceleration, Auto-cross (1 lap dash) and endurance. Due to rules and regulations teams must design around them to achieve the best possible result in all aspects. 30+ teams compete in Australasia every year in Melbourne during December and the top teams are invited to go overseas to compete in European and north American Comps. UOW placed 8th in 2015, hoping for a better result this year. The is made up of students from all university degree backgrounds and they work together to design bigger and better cars each year. The 2017 Campaign will consist of 2 cars for the competition, an Internal combustion car, and for the first time in its history, an Electric Vehicle.
