The foot pedal is attached to a cable, upon depressing the foot pedal, the cable retracts and disengages the bolt stop/catch. Its a very simple 'trigger' more like a 'Sear' on an open bolt subgun, but the Bolt has a floating firing pin so it cannot fire out of battery. Its a rotating bolt with interrupted threads and operates similar to an M16 bolt.

Where's the trigger on this thing? I know that there's a foot pedal but where's the actual trigger?

It was 'captured' by a local Army reserve unit in 2006. Im aType 07 Manufacturer FFL/SOT and I was asked by the Army Reserve to Make it inoperable and 'fix' the tripod so they can put it on outdoor display at their Armory.
