Appreciate the review mate. Haven't had the option to test drive a new RS, but I'm currently debating upgrading to one from my Fiesta ST, and hearing you say that the RS feels very much the same puts me at ease, because like you, I adore mine, one of the most fun car I've ever driven.

The 2.3 engine block in the RS is the the same block as the Mazda 3 MPS / Speed 3 ..just tweaked up with EcoBoost tech.. So really the engine has it's origins with Mazda ..

Only question i have is the reliability. If I want to modify like Evo or STi, would the transmission take it up to like 400hr whp without changing the transmission? I wonder how the engine would hold up?, STi runs forever, and Evo a little less, but how is RS like? I have feeling this car need to trashed after 50k miles?

its interesting how cars today are more about software and configurations to meet your setup than have one car for track and another for commuting to work. :-)

It's too bad the Focus RS doesn't have a rear diff cooler like it does on the front because when the sensors detect it getting a little hot the rear diff shuts down...then you're left with a front wheel drive. Way to go Ford!

As a former SVT Contour owner from 1998-2004, I really think this new Focus RS is an awesome machine, but I do not like this color at all! It seems like just about every tester has an RS in this color as well. It just seems like a color a chick would pick. This color is way too girly for me lol. I love everything else about the RS, so the color is an easy fix obviously ;)
