Hi. First off. I know this will not work for everyone but it may help most. When the 6.4 does not get a complete regen or exhaust cleaning that causes multiple concerns. Mostly wasted fuel and poor fuel economy. Plus over time fuel contaminates the oil and causes premature wear. Especially to the rocker arms. The variables will be your calibration and gauge options. But if this works then you may have a way to tell if the regen process is complete or only partially done.

Ron, my 6.4 is throwing the code p00B7 and I have a wrench coming up and the truck says Reduced Engine Power. If I restart the truck, this does not happen again for days. Any idea? Seems like it might be the thermostat, although the truck doesnt overheat. It seems to take about 20 minutes to warm up though.

hello Ron,... lets say a truck doesn't have a catalytic converter, just straight pipe,.... how does that affect the regen ?... if any at all.

That DPF regen is an engine killer. If it wasn't for damn treehuggers, that crap wouldn't even be on today's diesels.

I use this method as well to check, however I can also tell by the change in tone of the engine. I get more ejector rattle when in regen. When going through system check my truck does not show air filter status. Probably due to its a 2010 and only has the filter minder that is NOT electrically connected ???

An edge insight CTS monitor or edge programmer will display soot percentage as well as when the truck is in regen
