The solution is veganism

So, let me get this right
Farmers are not getting a good price for milk they supply, they buy the milk ( Store still makes the money, just now the consumers can't get the milk, thanks farmers) in what way did this work? This means the store already sold their stock of milk and made a profit... Now the consumers are more pissed some gits came in and took all the milk and clearly will be wasting it. -
Please, I just need someone to tell me what this music is!

All these farmers are idiots. It's basic economics, if the supermarkets aren't paying you enough, don't sell your milk to them. If no one will pay the amount you want, get out of the business. Why should your business be subsidised.
-
But they send the milk to dairy companies to be pasteurized (or made into cheese, yoghurt, etc...) in the first place. If the dairy company isn't paying them enough for the milk, the best way to create a shortage is to stop selling to the dairy companies. Sure, that cuts into their bottom line, but it will get the dairy companies attention a lot faster, not to mention it will create an actual shortage, not just a manufactured one. They're hitting the supply and demand wagon from the wrong side. If the companies don't have product to sell in the first place, they'll be a hell of a lot more willing to listen to their suppliers. And the supermarkets don't have anything to do with it in the first place - they get their supply from the dairy companies. Yes, they mark it up a little and then put it on the shelves. But asking them to mark it up higher is only going to line the supermarket's pocket, and it's certainly not going to get passed on down the supply-chain.
That is, unless the dairy industry in the UK is structured way differently from how it is here in the US. Even so, the milk doesn't go straight from the cow to the supermarket. It goes through processing somewhere. And it's the processor that needs to be dealt with as they're the ones who sell it to the supermarkets who then sell it to the public. -
I am sorry farmers that you aren't being paid well but there are millions of other people not being paid well who would love some cheap milk you know for eating and not going hungry and such.

Supply and demand. I don't feel sorry for dairy farmers in the least. People are waking up to the fact that dairy is bad for your health, cruel to animals, and destructive to the environment. I'll be glad to see all dairy disappear forever.

WTF HOW HEARTLESS CAN THEY BE TO JUST THROW AWAY MILK LIKE THAT?!? Honestly it could be worse, people need to be more grateful.

-
I didnt get it What is the real problème here
-
This makes no sense.
Here In UK farmers make their own choice on the price.
They agreed to the price and yet they complain.
Incase your wondering there is no shortage of milk. -
Fuck farmers
-
Eat couple of cows and stop selling too much cow milk you greedy ass farmers.
-
Milk prices are falling because the Chinese economy is failing. Unless these farmers are willing to fund a 10 trillion dollar economy they may want to play the cards they're dealt.
Secondly, milk prices are not 'leveling off' because we are exiting a recession they are plummeting because one of the largest consumers of dairy products on the planet can't afford to buy as much anymore. When supply overwhelms demand, prices decrease, its simple economics. -
Has anyone seen how a cow is milked nowadays, i mean the farmer himself unless out in the field doesn't have to do too much, in all honesty its the animals that need looking after as well, not just the farmers, dairy farmers should have law regulating them to give a calf a share of the milk, as well as regulating the drugs that are injected into the cow in order to make it produce more milk which also produces a certain content level of puss that ends up in the containers at the end of the line, but of course they won't put that on the fucking label.

So this would seem to be a world wide problem as New Zealand farmers face the same issues.. regulated to the eyeballs making it more expensive to produce then it is to sell in the markets. The market for milk has not changed !! it is still a highly processed product with no health benefits unlike raw milk.. its the corporations manipulating markets in order to control output profits world wide.. support our farmers big and small as they are the ones that keep the world moving..
