Machines | Excavator Fills Dump Trucks with Dirt at Construction Site
videos | at work | information | view | construction
A CAT 345C Hydraulic Excavator scoops big piles of dirt and drops them into double trailer dump trucks (aka transfer dump trucks) to haul away. Also check out http://youtu.be/oHmZvtXZsNg for a fun video from this same construction site that make these trucks look like toys! More videos from this construction site will follow soon. Is this under a creative commons license? Could I use a short clip in a video I'm preparing for a client?

I know a dump trail can fit more then 5 buckets from a 245.is it all about the weight California.???

why the long drawbars?
-
I wonder where they take the dirt.

Why are those trucks only being half loaded?
And would it not be easier to jack knife the truck so the excavator could load from the rear and not the side, trailer as well! -
You are right, definitely not the safest move!

Who is the idiot at 2:56 who steps across the tongue of the trailer? That's a good way to get yourself run over. The safest way is to walk all the way around a truck/trailer combo or wait for it to move past you.
