Machines | EX120 Excavator Has Thrown A Track
videos | at work | information | view | construction
Starting down the hill to work on the driveway my Hitachi EX120 threw a track. This is how we got the track put back on the driver sprocket. Off-grid homesteading is all about solving problems.

You got skills man!
-
Funny, I had to do a track today too
-
Man I have to get my hands on an excavator one of these days!!!
-
Do you miss your excavator
-
YOUNG MAN , U ARE GOING ALL WRONG ABOUT PULLING TRACK , IF THIS IS YOUR DAD HE IS IN DANGEROUS FOR SURE
-
I'm no genius, though couldn't you just break the master track link loose, lift the one side of the excavator in the air with the bucket, force contact between the sprocket and chain, and drive the sprocket to rotate the chain, then use a prybar to make contact with the 2 end chain pieces?
-
Next time pull the idle pull out, hooking chain to buck. Grease will go in a lot easier by hand pumping
-
Nicely done... Those things can be a real challenge sometimes... Especially when they're deep in mud or some sort of messy stuff that gets in the way.
-
Your the master of disaster
-
As she said, "A boy and his Papa." Nothin' better.
-
For as quick and easy as they are to pop off you would think there would be just as fast a way to get it back on. Sadly that doesn't seem to ever be the case.

Hey Jack, you into everything seems like , I rememberer you on Ram pump , that was good too, on this one buddy you did OK, this is common issue when you don't know your track is too loose, means no grease on the damper , not a problem just put the stick on the ground and lift up the track few crowbars will do the job, Good to see you anyways. Keep up the good work..

that little kid riding in the bucket,is the stupidest fucking thing ever. just dumb.Give you're head a shake.
-
I wanted to watch, "Jack's Ride" :( Safety Sally must have had it taken down :'(
-
Cody there is a snap on grease gun on eBay right now for 98$ buy it now
-
What happened to the EX120?
-
The key to it is putting the track on the sprocket first. Easier getting it over the idler.
-
Well done, it gets easier after you have done it many times.
-
Is it ironic that the "Off the Grid Homestead Project" is chronicled on youtube? Not as ironic as "poor" students tweeting from iPads while they eat ramen, but still ironic.
-
Does the grease that was pumped in that small hole was to tighten track.
