Machines | Epic Wood Load Shift Fail
videos | at work | information | view | construction
A heavy load of wood timbers shifted as this truck made a short turn in a church parking lot. After much effort with a telehandler that was to small for the job the load was lifted and happily on his way.

biggest problems there are 1 load shifting 2 screwing round corners 3 weak trailers all the american trailers are shit 4 you scallop tyres doing that the best way to tie on would be chains and binders and use steel corners 2 chains each and they will never move
-
success now on to the toothpick factory
-
wow an o/o truck ( not swift ) screwing up & I'm sure the boss did see it as well as the rest of the world. thanks youtube😅😅
-
those straps are not rated for the weight of the wood bundles it needs the 4 inch straps atleast 3 per bundle and extra doesnt hurt hes gonna kill someone or hisself
-
What the fuck kinda strap is that shit 2 Walmart straps and go slow when jack knife that much the trailer won't rock side to side but will forward and back or fifth wheel whatever you want to call it
-
Ooopsy whoopsy.

Why isnt the guy filming in the forktruck?
-

Improperly secured...
Belly straps. -
improper load securement
-
he didn't have enough straps or the right straps! I may be wrong but I didn't think using ratchet straps for a while load was legal...

+Greg Heller, I'm an old flat bedder. The first thing I noticed was that he had no belly wrap's. He may have had enough chain for the weight of the bundle. But, regardless he should have belly wrap's on all three bundles. This driver is very inexperienced or he's just flat lazy. If he had used belly wraps his load would not have slid sideways on there skids. In addition with properly placed and tight belly wraps his bundles would have remained stiff keeping the trailer from bending. The video doesn't show the rest of the trip which was probably interesting at least.

Insufficient restraints. Should be MINIMUM 3 straps per, and 4 would have been better. I could never be comfortable hauling something that didn't have chain or 4-inch strap at about 4-ft intervals. Better to take the extra time to "over-do it" than the other way around.

first of all you're a dumbass for jack knifing it like that when you had all that room to turn around. second you're a dumbass for not putting the forks under the wood to support it then undoing the straps taking off the parcel, resituating the truck then reloading said parcel. would have been a lot faster and easier on everyone and everything. third you're a dumbass for making a video of all this saying "I hope my boss doesn't see this" really. it truck drivers like you that give truckers like the rest of us a bad name. go back to school and see if they hand out brains seeing as you obviously missed that day.

I wonder how long since he greased his fifth wheel. Don't grease it and it will seize and tip as you turn
-
Problem was you only had two straps on each stack. You should have put two on the lower stacks too.
-
what a dummy
-
this is why you can't jacknife a flatbed, the 5th wheel pivot will do this when the bed is at a 90° angle to the cab

Pas très habile les 2 chauffeurs
