Thanks for sharing

I have a vise similar to this one the screw is fine but the receiver stripped not sure where I can order a new one.

It would be satisfactory to see the engineering involved in the spring replacement and acquisition; much more achievement there. Where do you get them for say a Parkinson's PerfectVise? You are right otherwise vices do not wear out. It was a good film.

I've never heard of Irimo before. It looks really nice, quality stuff too.
What's the material? It looks like drop forged steel. I don't see how cast iron could be that sleek. -
can I ask what paint did you use? I'm just cautious as I have had primers react with topcoat on cars so won't to do it right first time, Thanks Ian

Why did you yell at that poor girl?

you did a great job on that vise! i restored a 3" parker vise that was rusted to the point where it would barely move (the past owner had a boat and used it in his dock workshop so it was exposed to salty corrosive conditions) i broke the jaws free with a rubber mallet, stripped, painted, and oiled it and its good as new. still use it to this day

Good job-next time use PPE (mask, gloves) and show details of what paint you used-brand, color, no. of coats...

Thank you very much....
