The Anukulan project, part of the BRACED program, is changing the lives of rural Nepalese. The effort trained day laborers to be vegetable farmers ending the need for their daily migration. It also established vegetable collection centers where their harvest can be sold in bulk, greatly reducing the time required to sell vegetables. Because of the project, they’ve become safer and more self-sufficient due to their increased income. In the future, they only hope to improve themselves further. BRACED is a UKAid funded three year (2015-2017) duration project implemented by International Development Enterprises (iDE) and its consortium partners. The overall goal is to improve the well-being of poor people, especially women and children, despite their exposure to climate related shocks and stresses.
