An economy grows not only due to markets but culture. Ethiopia's economy is largely based on agriculture like America 100 years ago, so they still have a pretty substantial growth to go through and i'm guessing whenever a successful Ethiopian entrepreneuer rises he moves to another country.

Why don't you explain why a free market economy is unsustainable in Ethiopia? Ethiopia has a population of over eighty five million people, with arable land, natural resources, and the Nile river ready to be used for hydroelectric power. Ethiopians have a history of entrepreneurship....so why is free market unsustainable in Ethiopia our anywhere else in Africa? Mengistu.

It gives me hope, just knowing intelligent, passionate, and committed women like Eleni rolled her sleeve. It also give's me a glimpse of what Ethiopian government is, because here in the West we hear only unreasonable demonizing none stop. Dear complainers; see, you are gossip recycle-rs. @Rasxilinx Just google why Iran isn't capable of reverse engineering the downed drone and you will see my point. And by the way, I'm a reverse engineer by profession (malware reverse engineer, to be precise). I just don't like it, when specially in Ethiopia, people belittle any scientific progress since almost everyone sees it as a simple trial and error. And he doesn't help to correct this, he's on the other side actually. I won't believe it since he doesn't know *how* they work.

@Rasxilinx And from your replies, I can clearly see that you're 'knowledge' doesn't exceed from reading definitions on a dictionary. 'It's called reverse engineering'? You're just proving my point there! Reverse engineers should be very, very knowledgeable on their respective fields. You can't reverse engineer anything without knowing how it's components work. He even admitted that he didn't know what and how the components work (capacitors, transistors and the like).

@Rasxilinx Yes I saw his TedxAddis talk and it shocked me. There was no 'invention' is his products, he even said that he doesn't know how they work. How on earth do you expect me to believe that he built them without knowing anything about how they work? He is the prime example of our 'technology' sectors problem. We don't value knowledge, experiment and the science and reason behind technology. That's why the only 'invention' you will ever see is the 'Injera mitad'.
