As a rule the larger computers control a larger array of sensors and actuators and also control the smaller modules themselves. Learn to test these larger units here with wiring diagram interpretation in mind. Today's CAN or controller area network communication arrays are difficult and complex, and so is it's diagnostic process. Get an insight look at these units here. Presented using the latest CG and graphics animation technology. Part of our wiring diagram analysis set of videos seen on this channel. Thanks , the public library in my town uses donations and tax dollars to provide the citizens with needed info. The info it would take to provide the most updated info about the system in the cars we drive. Once identifying what you are working on, it is free to the public to search the automotive database, in this case they have Mitchell. Factory manuals are offered at city library 7 miles away. your mileage may vary, happy motoring
-
Mitchell-1 is not on any public library. It's a proprietary systems. Service manuals are not in the public domain. They may be at your local library, but would be an exception... Thanks for posting.
-
Info at the public library is available to any citizen. Every manual lists system prechecks before pinpoint tests are indicated. Paying for CERTS does not a technician make!!! Being able to answer GM questions on a test has not been an indication of reliable work. Other makes use different things. This is why I was noting that this info is available and clears up confusion. It also leads to the use of parts that superceed whats at the local stores. Defining the info is the first step. y'wlcm

Oh.... Forgive me Master Dude. I had no idea you know all there's to know about ECM. Your Master ASE and L1 Certification speak for itself. Oh... No ASE Certification? Well, that's what this channels is for, to help folks who are not as well endowed as you are. Next, please post on a master channel somewhere else. This place is not for you... Thanks for sharing.

dudes, get your make, model, and year info. take a pic. of CAFE decal on the vehicle where it was produced so you know what you are working on. then goto the public library. get on their automotive database. ours is mitchell. then get your updated wire diagrams, tsb's and any recall info. THEN you can have a base of reference to answer pcm/ecu pinouts. all this generic info is classroom stuff but not specific for a real application thats going to enter the highway

Ok, older vehicles the injectors were group fired. Normally one injector bank was fired then the other. That's why you see it that way on the schematic and also for sake of explanation. After group fire came multiport injection and then sequential MPFI. On sequential injectors are fired independently. One thing to remember is that even on modern sequential MPFI, only UPON START UP all injectors are fired at once. So, in effect the old group fire injector scheme was never fully abandoned.
-
Diagram shows #8 pin to injector. Should there be one separate pin out for each injector?
-
Regardless we still love you and appreciate the fact that you're posting here. You encouraged to watch out latest series "Automotive Relays" and "Stories from the Road". Thanks again...

Your harness should have provisions for chassis ground and battery positive. If not it is incomplete. It'll be a nightmare for you since you'd need a wiring diagram and disassemble the harness and follow the wires from ECM to their final point of ground and power connections.
-
in other words there is piece of the ecm wiring thaty needs to be wired to the chasis harness to get power .how do i go about wiring that part
-
there is a bunch of wires to connect to the ignition switch power ground crank signal nd more how do i dertermine which wire goes where it has like 5 lose wires to connect to give the ecu power nd ground nd for the fuel pump
-
If you have original ECM and harness all you need to do is connect. There's no pinouts to know. I don't think I understand what you're saying.
