The diverted London Euston to Glasgow Central Caledonian Sleeper (1S26) at Newcastle Central on the morning of 9th January 2016 (sorry about wrong year in video into). The train arrived assisted by two class 47 diesel locos 47848 and 47843 with 90045 as the main loco as the train was being diverted over the non electrified Durham Coast line because of engineering wok between Darlington and Newcastle.

I mind working the Caledonian Sleepers from Edinburgh to Euston via Newcastle then across the Hexham route to Carlisle in 1990s.

Sorry Allan, just saw another post - it was early morning - lol! Still well worth it tho!

that's a lovely capture Allan - you know I love these positioning moves! It was an unusually late shift for you up at the Central but we'll worth it! The Caley Sleeper is really getting around the system since the WCML was blocked at Lamington, so now it's running through my home village of Kilmaurs on its way to Kilmarnock! Thanks, Ken

That's a fairly remarkable working. Who would've thought that 47s would still be hauling the sleeper.
