Machines | Digging a pond with a Compact Tractor - Kioti CK20s
videos | at work | information | view | construction
Dug a retention/drain pond with my 2012 Kioti CK20s 4x4 Hydro tractor. The Daedong built diesel is rated at 23 HP, bucket lift capacity is right around 1000 lbs, the 3-pt lift capacity is right around 1400 lbs. I bought this tractor this spring - shopped around and compared with Kubota, John Deere, New Holland, Massey, Branson, McCormick, Bobcat, Cub Cadet (Yanmar), etc... The Kioti (made by Daedong, who also makes Bobcat & I believe McCormick) was by far the best deal... right around $13,000 with loader, plus a better warranty than most of the others. Support has been great so far, and the Kioti has definitely proved itself to me - right around 150 hours so far on it, almost all of it with the loader. If you're shopping for a Compact Utility tractor (this is not a SCUT "sub compact") then you should definitely consider the Kioti! http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kioti-owning-operating/256452-diggin-pond-my-ck20s-3.html

I have the CK20S too, and I have the tires 'loaded ' and it sure makes a difference to traction and tractive effort too. These Kioti's with HST and 22 H.P. engine are really impressive.
You've done a good job with this one, Mario. Now all you have to buy next is the back hoe attachment, ( there's a good way to 'ballast' this tractor )
Nice video ! -
Thanks for video!

That tractor works really good I'm surprised
-
its better digging with a tooth bar.but great job

You would have put a lot less strain on your tractor's front axle, had you maintained ballast on the Three Point Hitch. Its fun lifting the rear wheels, but not safe and VERY HARD ON FRONT AXLE AND WHEEL BEARINGS.

Another video ruined with shit music

No fines from the epa? We wanted to put one in on our farm. .. I guess it is a big no no

Quick questions... How did the pond turn out? Any problems? Finish photos? I'm getting ready to start the same project with the same tractor although I'll be damming up a valley backing up about 2 acres of water. My intent is to build a dam that will end up about 20 feet high and wide enough at the top to drive a vehicle across. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I enjoyed the video; thanks for sharing it. It's always good to find real working compact tractors to watch while I'm waiting on delivery of mine. Only thing is, for future viewers, never let your kids in a dry trench or pond. I've seen plenty of videos of collapsed dirt walls. THose buried are dead before even the equipment can get them out.

I really like my Kioti but the injector pump went out and had it fixed and now its out again and come to find out a VERY high percentage of their pumps fail and at it gets extremely expensive!!! They really should have recalled them and replaced them free of charge since they are junk.

you need some teeth on that bucket, good job on the pond!

I had three point rack made and mounted a 55 gal barrel filled with water on my 2510 Kioti. Great video, and the Kioti tractors do work very well............Ken
