Our most popular electric car here in NZ is still the Nissan Leaf as we are allowed to import used Japanese cars so we can get low mileage 2012-2015 Leaf for around $20,000 - $30,000

You're in America now. You can't say "recompense" anymore.
-
Not a lot of people want a leaf in New Zealand because they wanted over $60,000 for them and a lot of people travel between 60 to 120k per day to get to work and back also nissan never realy push the leaf here they never realy wanted to sell them, its all just BS

Audi likely doesn't need any special equipment to charge a U.S. Model X in Europe. A J1772 charger will work with the adapter Tesla includes with the Mobile Connector Bundle of the Model S and X, and Audi certainly has J1772 chargers, since they're a global standard that Audi's own EVs and PHEVs use in many markets. Also the Tesla Mobile connector should plug into nearly any outlet, with an adapter, and be able to charge the car, assuming the car can cope with different AC line frequencies and voltages, which seems possible in principle. In any case, J1772 should work.

Elon wouldn't be scared of the LeEco, he'd be delighted, since his aim is the rapid increase of EV use. In any case he has such a head start everyone else is playing catch-up.

only way you can fix ICEs to be clean is to remove the engine and let owners pedal on the pavement, flinstones style ;-) ;-) (yes, this is a joke).

I'd buy a Honda Clarity BEV if they could be arsed releasing it in the UK.

A while ago it was said that part of the agreement with Volkswagen was that they will have to significantly accelerate their electric car development. Do we know whether that still stands?

Great show, congratulations

It should be within german capability to create a J1772 stand that they can charge an american Model X with. Not fast but still. I think it goes up to 80A? that should be enough for them to play with. Although dear fascist Tesla has been known to disable owner cars when they feel entitled.
