I wish they would make a smaller V6 or 8 that would fit into medium size pickups and wreckers. It would be awesome to have that 'revving to the moon' sound with an F250 or Ram etc.. Surely someone could cast something up.. And if you designed it with a Cummins still common rail system, their would be a very tiny chance of runaway. And if you designed it with a good DFC system, you would even need an EGR or DPF if it were set up with a state of the art SFC system. like a 7.2 litre V8 TT with crankcase blower.thing would sip fuel if it were setup properly and you could rera I wish I had the know-how how to cast heads and blocks. I'd make one myself. The 2 stroke isn't dead, it's just been hibernating!!

Oh ok I saw you getting out for a brief moment I though that is what you did my bad. I have a 6/71 that I have to jump it to start it because I have no batteries at the moment, but it starving of fuel, I change the fuel filters and its starving of fuel again I don't know what it can be. If you have any info or input please share.

I bet you shot a bit of ether took care of that cold start

I think the left stack has some holes in it.
-
WO, THEM SMOKE
-
Make a video revving it like the kenworth. Also, could it be bought?

I'd like to see a picture of the engine. Easy to tell the difference of a 6V-53 or 6V-71 or 92 (71 and 92 look the same on the outside). 53 series has perimeter bolts holding down the valve cover. 71 and 92 series has the distinct two hand, or bolts in the center of the valve cover.

You mean about 2,300rpm. Remember it is 2 stroke and just sounds like that. Unless you have an accurate operating tachometer.
-
After listening again (course can't really tell without it revving) it sounds like an 8V-71
-
looks like you need muffler
-
R.I.P. Starter and Battery

if it's a single axle most likely an old mclean horse. bunk window instead of a vent gives it away.
-
Cool!...sounds good for sittin long!
-
Once its up and running, exhaust looks good.
Good you keep high idle, keep oil pressure up.
Nice old truck -
Exhaust leaks??? Cool truck and engine though.

I may be mistaken, but im pretty sure during the whole video, only the passenger side bank of 3 cylinders were running.
