DC machines are the machines which accept DC power supply for their respective working. There are two types of DC machines: 1) DC Motor: It uses DC power that is electrical energy and produces mechanical works. 2) DC Generator: Mechanical work is provided to the DC generator with the help of a prime mover and this mechanical work generates electrical energy. Both of the machines have similar construction. Just in case of DC generator a prime mover and a rectifier is required. I have explained the constructional diagram for DC machines in this video.
