Piece of cake!

The smell of that diesel smoke, beautiful.
-
it uses a cable system instead of hydraulics?

Old times coming back to me I operated an identical machine except for the electric starting system back in the mid sixties. The serial # was 18A345. It was an oldtimer but one of the nicest scraper cats I ever run pulling a 463 cat can. With the blade and C frame off it had perfect balance for a scraper cat. I loved that old pile of iron!

or its just cold.
-
I used to work on these back in the 1960's, most had donkey engines & was always fun to start them.
-
Easy Spray start= how to (eventually) wreck a motor. If the motor won't or is difficult to start, then that indicates there is a problem with it. Fix the problem, and you won't need the Easy Start. Period.
-
I need that spray you use at the biginning of the video for my IMT-539. Where are they sold?
-
the most sexy thing is the stack LOL

how many cubic inchs where those old d9 engines?
-
as far as I know the 353 has no particular meaning other than to designate what engine it is. Some other engines of that era were the D318 and D315, so the idea of it relating to hp is not viable. All production low drive D9's were turbo 6's, the G and H models also had an aftercooler.
-
So is the "353" the power rating? Is that how it works? And were all D9's 6-cyl turbos, or was that like a top-of-the-line model? Love old diesels, anyway. Well...gas engines are alright too, but they both have their attractions. =)

A D-8 around 1975, used for logging, very cold winter morning start, such a nice sound when that baby catches and gets ready for 8 hours of work!!

That machine would be a LOT of fun at Rough & Tumble in August!!
