Mahapatra (Ex.Director CRIJAF) CRIJAF Nail Weeder to control composite weed flora in germinating stage at field capacity in field (jute, upland rice, oil seeds, pulses) and other horticultural crops. In broadcast jute, sesame, mustard etc using this tool simultaneous weeding, thinning, soil mulching and line arrangement can be made.Usual scrappers and tynes are supplied with it to control established weeds and row making respectively. In two successive perorations (at 5 and 10 days after sowing at field capacity), 8-10 man days are required/ha to operate this tool. In jute, it saves 60-65 labourers /ha.
