This includes the basics of crane (and other related equipment) safety, maintenance and operation and the opportunity to gain hands-on skills on crane simulators and real machines. The only program of its kind in Ontario, Construction and Hoisting Techniques offers small practical classes designed to teach you how to use gas, pneumatic and power tools and the safety, rigging, hoisting and loading of materials. In addition, you will receive training in fall arrest, confined spaces, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), trenching, chainsaws and scaffolding. All of this will well prepare you for future employment with a general construction or crane company including the ability to assist crane operators.
