Machines | Compressed Air Vehicle (CAV) - The Mechanical Engineering Project
videos | at work | information | view | construction
A compressed-air vehicle (CAV) is powered by an air engine, using compressed air, which is stored in a tank. Instead of mixing fuel with air and burning it in the engine to drive pistons with hot expanding gases, compressed-air vehicles use the expansion of compressed air to drive their pistons. One manufacturer claims to have designed an engine that is 90 percent efficient Compressed-air propulsion may also be incorporated in hybrid systems, such as with battery electric propulsion. This kind of system is called a hybrid-pneumatic electric propulsion. Additionally, regenerative braking can also be used in conjunction with this system. more details visit our website : http://cavteamproject.webs.com/

i ll tell you
you need a turbine -
Air must be pushing the inlet valve open evan on the exhaust stroke. Not good.

lol

It would take too much energy to supply the compressed air to start with, the tank would have to be massive and from your test engine there would be insufficient power to move anything, you have a lot of work to do to get this anywhere near functional and I feel the final result will be so slow it will not be acceptable for many applications at all.
