Machines | Cold Air Intakes Mythbusted [Naturally Aspirated]
videos | at work | information | view | construction
In this episode the boys compare a Cold Air Intake system with a factory intake on the Honda S2000 to see if it makes as much power as some people have claimed... thats funny, a CAI made more power for my 07 focus. even more after my tune. these guys are frauds... -_-

I feel that if air is too cold oxygen molecules will not move around as quickly, thus giving themselves less of a chance to interact and ignite with the petrol. On the other hand, if air is too hot, then the capacity for density of oxygen may be lower due to increased air pressure. As a result, I feel that there is a point at which you can optimize density and molecule speed, and it won't be at an extreme of hot or cold temperatures. Somewhere in between. What do you guys think?
-
why are you yelling?
-
Why not also do the following test on dyno: Keep the std airbox, cut out plastic deflector inside it, then fit bigger K&N cone filter inside the airbox.
-
Never heard of a Honder before
-
RX7 two stroke hehe rotary is 4 stroke
-
You would see even more power if you didn't have that aluminium tube off your cold air intake. It will act like a heat-sink and soak up the under bonnet temperature and re heat your air charge, ABS has far greater thermal insulating properties, as per OEM.
-
Peace Martin! Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.
-
putting the classic k&n on my bmw 540 made that v8 fucking roar. and everybody knows, sound= power. proven by fart can exhausts everywhere. easy 50bhp gain.
-
why cant you guys do this with a standard car and not a high performance car....with a standard car we will definitely see some gains
-
since when 177 at the wheels high powered? stupid ricers
-
its obvious it would. you are making there air colder coming to the engine. you are taking out restrictions that might be in a stock intake and going to a smooth pipe instead of the stock one that isnt smooth and flat in the inside. the material doesn't make that much of a difference. its not enough pressure to make a difference like it does with boosted car. plus the more you things you do the intake will help out as well, headers exhaust, intake manifold etc. for the money it isnt that bad, not like those fake chips those dont do anything.
-
yaa, my cheap $50 car that was a buick lesabre had always performed better on cold and nightly days vs the hot summer. I almost wanted to get a cold air intake just because I could feel the difference even in day vs night driving. I wanted to connect the air conditioner to the air intake hahaha.
Make a video on that! Make a big hole in the air inatake, then re-route your AC air flow line to blow AC air into the air intake. hahah I thought of that before but I never even looked to see where the air tubes are. -
there not really getting a real test as there is not cold air pressure on a dyno!!
-
5 horses is worth $25,000, yo!
-
3 to 5 kilowatts = 4 to 6.7 horsepower.
-
Is 5KW= 5HP??
-
Australia has some weird car names .
-
American here, had to convert kw to hp lol. Where do you guys film this show? I've seen a Haltech tuned srt Ram on a video looked badass.
-
wait tell it fucking rains and pours down then you will see it lose power maby lose the engine at the same time
