Due to Engineering work north of Berwick Upon Tweed on the East Coast Mainline Some East Coast Trains had to be diverted via the Tyne Valley line travelling through Carlisle the West Coast Mainline and Carstairs to Reach Edinburgh Waverley. Due to the Tyne Valley line not being Electrified this East Coast Intercity 225 working Service 1S21 London Kings Cross to Glasgow Central had to be dragged by a Diesel Class 67 Locomotive between Newcastle and Carlisle. This video shows the procedure of coupling the Class 67 to the Intercity 225 and Departure from Newcastle Central station. Filmed on 12th October 2014 at Newcastle central station.
