City of Sydney Fire Station Scania "Runner" 4 November 2012. Fire and Rescue New South Wales (FRNSW) - State Government fire authority. Scania P320 crewcab chassis, SEM Engineering (SEM Fire & Rescue) equipment body, Rosenbauer 4,000 litres/min pump. Built late 2010, started service early 2011. In the late 1920's the then New South Wales Fire Brigades established a "Flying Motor" and a "Running Motor" at Headquarters Fire Station, Sydney. The Flying Motor was supposed to be out the door within 30 seconds of the alarm, the Running Motor would travel to any major job with A District. Whilst their roles have slightly changed, the "Flyer" and the "Runner" still exist.

This particular appliance wasbuilt late 2010 and arrived early 2011, in February as I recall. Earlier model Scania's have been used in Sydney since 1990. Scania P94 trucks were first used in Sydney as Telesquirts in 2000. From 2004 there were several Scania Bronto platform ladders. With a few minor changes, this Scania chassis and SEM equipment body has been used as a standard FRNSW pumper appliance since 2008. Rgds
